   @disgustedtaxpayer. Thank you Ayn Rand. Ummm…government is what allows capitalism to exist and function. look at the highway system that is the backbone of this country. What built that? Private funding or public taxes? It takes money to run a society and every person or corporation must pay to fund that operation. We can argue over the priorities, but regardless, it takes cash. OMG imagine the world if all contract disputes were judged by private paid entities? Wow…no possibility of bias there at all…

   Not true. I am not going to marry a straight woman just to marry a woman (or a lesbian for that matter), because THAT would be a lie, and do a disservice to what marriage represents. I love my husband, and he loves me. And nobody is harmed by it. Those who say they are, are harmed by the thought of my existence. Does that justify removing ME entirely? Slippery slope, that.

   Fetuses are not babies. Churches can fund hospitals without government dollars and with fewer government restrictions. The simple fact is that contraceptives are legal and available through our federal health care channels. If church supported hospitals find contraception offensive, then they should not participate in federal health care programs. Period.

   @s – What a blowhard statement to make: “Do you realize that EVERYONE who is for abortion had a mother that was against abortion?” My mother has been pro-choice all her life. It was one reason she left the Catholic church. The other was divorce.

   A woman choosing to have a child is not a statement that every woman should have every child.

   And a fetus is NOT a child. It is a fetus. Once it is born, it is a child.

   I find myself wondering how many people who are anti-abortion are also anti-cesarean – or anti-epidural. One can argue just as readily that medically assisted birth is as irreligious and unnatural as medically assisted pregnancy termination. God/Nature “meant” for women to suffer through childbirth. and God/Nature “meant” for some pregnancies to be unable to go to term….
