“Gaslighting” is, in a sense, an old word, in that it comes from the movie (1944) of the same name, which was based on the play, Gas Light (1938). The movie is very watchable.
The Abraham Accords encouraged Israel to look the other way while Hamas received funding from Arab countries, which led to October 7th, which led to Netanyahu long-standing desire to wipe out all Palestinians.
I agree with the first suggestion. Israel could enact a unilateral cease-fire for one week, move out from Gaza as many women & children as it can into safe encampments in Israel. Then, if Hamas does not release the remaining hostages within that week, fighting resumes.
It is simplistic, however, to state that Palestinians allowed Hamas to lead them. Israel, by not abiding by the Partition Plan, essentially created Hamas, which was elected in Gaza twenty years ago, but has acted like dictators ever since.
Until Israel returns to the Partition Plan, the entire world must consider Israel itself a terrorist, genocidal state and treat it as a pariah.
I believe that the front porch was wearing the bathrobe.
