The stables my daughter used to ride at had a stop sign on the road near the parking lot with a stop sign that said “Whoa.” I got a chuckle out of it the first time I saw it.
At least, Lola got directly to his office. I have to fight with a “patient access center” agent to get to my doctors’ offices. You can’t get there directly. I usually drive to the offices in person. It’s easier than calling. A sad state of affairs nowadays, with most doctors belonging to large medical organizations. Here, the biggest is Northwell, which most of my doctors belong to. Other areas of the county have theirs as well—Geisinger, Bassett, Kaiser, etc.
Some people are lucky to have good genes. Most people aren’t and the golden years are more tin years. I know people who still run marathons in their 70s. My asthma makes me wiped out after mowing the lawn.
Yes, I think middle school teaching is a calling. My daughter absolutely loves her kids. She’s usually the first one in the building every morning and among the last to leave at the end of the day. She even goes in on the weekends to get set up for the next week’s lessons and activities. She’s been doing it now for 12 years—the first six in Arizona and now in Oregon. Thank you for your compliments and prayers; both are appreciated.
