    There is a 106 year old bridge in Long Grove, IL that has an extremely well marked bridge with a clearance of 8 feet, 6 inches, and quite a reputation for being hit. Originally of all wood construction, the end faces were reinforced with $1 million of steel bracing, completed in August, 2020. 23 hours after the opening, a school bus hit it and got stuck. No injuries. but plenty of dismay among citizens. It is THE most frequently hit bridge in Illinois.
