Are we talking about the same Calvin? When has he ever tried to spend more time with his parents other than torment them? (or run to them when he’s scared – he loves and trusts them but he’s still a brat :D )

What does it say on their hats? I can’t make it out. Looks like “Jim” something

That assumes Presidential policies have a significant impact on oil prices. It’s also worth mentioning that oil companies have been reporting record breaking profits

Here are my thoughts – Gas and oil companies are reporting record profits. Food for thought.

Dude – I am not going to get into a definitions argument with you. Your initial comment was insulting and inflammatory as a result of word choice. That’s troll behavior and is on you.

As to the rest – I am not going to spend 20 minutes looking at a zillion links. I looked at 3 (and that was more than I should have). Each of them had a punch line that was at least mildly humorous if not outright funny.

Anyways at this point I think you are just here to argue. I am kind of done with this thread. You can have the last word if you want it but I won’t be replying further.

It’s possible there have been previous comics in A&J without any humor or punchline in the past – I can’t recall one but I am the first to admit I am not perfect. By the way feel free to link one @flagmichael or @David Huie Green-Life is good, if you like as I believe it is you who are in error. While A&J has dealt with serious topics before, all the comics I recall normally have at least an attempt at humorous punchline.

As to you being trollish David, you are. There is nothing wrong with the subject matter. It was the sarcastic, biting, and mildly insulting delivery you chose. If you don’t want to be called a troll, don’t act like one.

I guess “surprise” is the right word since this is a “comic” and not a book.

Yes – I can hear you saying, “some comics strips are soap opera’s”. Up until today apparently, this wasn’t one of them. So the original comment/question regarding the expectation was fair and reasonable. And yours was just being trollish.

Was there a joke in today’s comic? If so it flew right over my head.

I am pretty confident at this point Luann is setting Bernice up. There has been an on going theme in the strip lately of everyone feels Bernice needs, forgive the crudity, to get laid.
