I replied to the person drawing parallels between calling the Anti-Vietnam war protestors communists and calling the protestors on the campuses antisemites. There is no parallel. Jewish students were harassed to the point of barricading themselves into rooms for their safety. That’s antisemitism. There is no parallel to that and protests against the American war in Vietnam being communist inspired.
How do you determine that a Jewish student attending classes or living in their dorm supports Israel AND the attacks on Gaza? Who makes that determination that you say makes it okay to harass them? How do you know the people making those determinations make them after exploring all the facts about that person?
Best not to harass anyone. Protesting against a policy doesn’t require harassing people.
Biden hasn’t said anything dehumanizing or called for the National Guard. While he disagrees with the message of some of the protesters, that hardly makes him the equivalent of Nixon who regularly denigrated the anti-war movement of his time.
Aren’t the spikes meant to hold the candles in place? I’ve seen them many times on older candle holders. Since the candles are made of wax, you carefully and firmly press the candle onto the spike.
I didn’t “poop” all over the story. I said I’m glad it’s over. That’s far from warranting a reaction like your policing. You didn’t need to comment back to me at all. As you say, move on. If me saying I’m glad it’s over ruins your enjoyment of it, then your enjoyment can’t be very strong. Maybe you’re not as big a fan as you think, if me saying I am glad this story is over ruins your entire enjoyment of it. You sound like the dudes who said the all-women Ghostbusters ruined their childhoods.
I’ve read BCN since it was a web series. I’ve purchased the books and merchandise to support Georgia. I’ve earned the privilege of expressing my opinion. You need to stop policing other people.
Your callousness to the suffering of all humans says much about you.
