I don’t particularly want to see him impoverished or imprisoned. I just don’t want him to be president again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Matt 7:3.

So you once worked in the public sector? I have to say, I’m surprised because you have always advanced a conservative viewpoint.

I have always considered libraries and librarians to be very important, especially in impoverished communities where access to information is limited. Some years ago, I read in the NYT about a rural community that refused to accept funds to build a library because they objected to paying a librarian a $50K salary, considering it exorbitant. When informed that the reason for the salary was the requirement of a master’s degree, they became even more incensed, complaining about elitist credentials. So the bottom line was, no library and the community sinks deeper into willful ignorance.

One of the problems is that schools are locally funded, which allows wealthy areas to provide a better education their own students, thus preserving inequality.

Surprise, surprise! Places that spend money for education, infrastructure and public services become economic powerhouses. Who knew?

There’s a whole article on battery farms and how they are smoothing out fluctuations:

They are already developing batteries to balance the cycles. Hell, all of the electric cars will be portable batteries that you can run your house on.

China already dominates solar! They now control 80% of solar manufacturing! And they did so because their government subsidized it!

The US is going to be left behind. Joe Biden has done at least 2 things right: He placed a tariff on China green tech and he is working to get the US up to speed on renewables with government programs.

You mark my words: We will lose if we don’t catch up.

The US dominated petroleum early and kept control of it since. Great Britain dominated coal and built an empire with it. But these fuels are in the past, losing importance with each passing day. Soon the internal combustion engine will be on the scrap heap right next to the reciprocating steam engine. And you’ll be crowing about the 190 years of oil left in the ground. Nobody’s going to want it any more than they want hay for their horses.

Notice I haven’t even mentioned global warming.
