The only time I ever see anyone from the Salvation Army is near Christmas, when the donation kettles show up. I do volunteer in a Museum that used to be a Salvation Army Hotel over 100 years ago.
According to the quick websearch I just did, 1772 seems to be the earliest date for electroplating.
