Thanks. So nice to see the gang, and in a modern setting.
All four original Peanuts characters in one strip for the first time — October 18, 1950.
Shermy. It was just CB, Shermy, Patty and Snoopy in the very earliest days. This is the seventh Peanuts strip from October 9, 1950.
Let’s do the time warp again. Back to the beginning. I’ll still follow along. It’s still interesting to see these early strips.
Hound isn’t so bad. Beagles are hounds (hunting dogs), after all.
They should have tinted Snoopy’s face pink in the last panel, since I assume the original shading on his face is to indicate embarrassment.

Possibly explains why Snoopy eventually indulges in so much fantasy later on, and has a bird as a best friend.
The song “Junk Food Junkie” went to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976, same year as this comic. Junk food had become a hot topic around then.
