Poor Pig. Pastis has a habit of being blunt. This struck me as probably more amusing than is appropriate, but I lately received a plea from an extremely worthy local charitable organization for a donation. Since they are working on raising a major amount of money part of the pledge form allows for a one, two or three year pledge. As someone edging closer and closer to Pig’s feared 80, I was contemplating the odds of being around to redeem a pledge out that far.
My first thought is to ensure you have a reasonably convenient source of refrigeration. You can make do with bathroom plumbing and a hot plate on a table and/or a small microwave that can run on a regular electrical circuit. A coffee maker or electric kettle if you prefer teas is also handy. Then hold on to a sense of humor at all costs. At least we are moving into summer and you can do a lot with raw and fresh fruits and veggies. The worst, from what you are currently enduring, is all the construction noise and dust. Best of luck wishes!
I listened to a recording recently of the noise they make. It was remarkably similar to the noise I live with because of tinnitus. Not sure if we will get enough of a swarm to be loud enough to compete. We are near one area of Illinois scheduled to have a major swarm but we are west of the river.
Musical is South Pacific, song is “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair” and send him on his way!
