Maybe they’ll paint EMS a different way if they go that route. But around this area (and most others) it is a thankless job as all ambulance companies aside from fire EMS are private. Which means no pensions like fire and way less pay. It’s sad and unfortunate but true.

Retired EMS. Always check carotid. Just because she’s breathing doesn’t mean she will have a radial pulse. After your systolic blood pressure goes below 90 you won’t feel a radial pulse. That can happen for a myriad of reasons, let alone you have a weak radial pulse naturally. If you’re A&O X4 (Alert and Oriented to time, date, place and person etc. Varies) either way you’re obviously functional that’s different. If you’re experiencing syncope i.e. fainted for xyz reason… you’ll check carotid.

You should check for a carotid pulse Luann. Not a radial pulse.

Super easy! First time I met my best friend was when I was 29. He is now my husband! He connected with me on LinkedIn, as we were both alumni as well as in the same major and he graduated the class before me. One thing led to another and I couldn’t be happier! Next person what’s the first thing you cooked by yourself?
