Al Goodwyn's Profile
Al Goodwyn Creator
Al Goodwyn began cartooning in 1989 when he put his physics education and technical experience to work for an international physics publication, producing science themed cartoons over the next 28 years. In 1997, he expanded into editorial cartoons for a local newspaper. Since then he has been widely featured and has won numerous editorial cartooning awards, most recently 1st place in the 2023 Green Eyeshade Award for editorial cartooning in the southeast. Al signed on with Creators Syndicate in 2020 and produces four to five cartoons per week. His work leans to the conservative side but he often hits any side deserving to be skewered.
It must be an election year based on the manufactured scandals surfacing. Democrats and the mainstream media are all over flags. We have Justice Alito’s upside-down American flag that flew for a few hours because of a neighborhood dispute. At the time it occurred, three years ago, it failed to generate the angst that it now seems worthy of garnering.
The far left’s flag fever dreams get another boost with the newly invented scandal surrounding Alito’s “Appeal to Heaven” flag. To get us all on the right, er, left page, the LA Times is here to help…by showing us how a scandal can easily be created in three easy steps.
1.Post your bias directly in the headline (and page link), “Banner of the Far Right”
2.Bury the truth deep in the article: “It’s not abundantly clear which of those reasons (symbols) would be accurate.”
3.Add vague adverbs like “abundantly”.
