'Nancy' and Technology: An Appreciation

Some of that buzz has to do with the fact that Olivia Jaimes is the first female cartoonist to take over the drawing board for the 85-year-old cartoon. However, the new Nancy has also drawn attention for its shrewd portrayal of how technology--phones, apps, social media, bots, and more--infiltrates daily life, especially the lives of typical elementary school-age kids.
