The Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, published its Friday edition—one day after a gunman stormed into the newspaper's office and murdered five members of its staff.

The determination of the Capital Gazette to publish in the face of an unspeakable tragedy is a reminder that a free and vigorous press will always prevail over senseless violence. "Yes, we're putting out a damn paper," a Capital Gazette reporter said yesterday when asked how the newspaper would respond.
