There ARE gun laws in the U.S., around 300 actually, not the thousands NRA claims. Many of those are such as defining the “legal” calibers for hunting various game species, not restricting access, and in fact many in the last few years EXPANDED easy access to firearms, or “carry”.
The “Brady Bill” was a good START, but not strong enough, and if modified, could be MORE effective, and lead to a lot of current laws being compressed into a single FEDERAL bill, and take many of those contradictory or “confusing” laws off the books.
