I went to a doctor for my back recently, and they asked similar questions. Questions about being/feeling loved, having a support system at home, etc. I thought it was kind of odd considering what I was there for.
They said they treat the whole person, not just their area of expertise.
I found it a bit strange, but they were very nice people.
