I just got back from the church service. It was donut Sunday, so I got to hang around and spend some time with the second service folks that I don’t see very often. It’s always fun. We actually ran out of donuts today. That’s never happened in the years I’ve been helping Mary serve them. We’ve been getting fewer and fewer every time in the last 6 months because the prices are going up and the church is still spending the same amount. So we went from 5 big boxes to 4 and that wasn’t enough. Mary said she would talk to the pastors about spending a little more.
It got up to 105 yesterday and is already 99 at 11 AM. The forecast is for 105 again and the humidity is down to 25%, forecasted to be 16%. Of course, the t-storms start up again tomorrow, so it will go up again.
We watched my favorite John Wayne movie “Hatari” last night. Mike was here and he hadn’t seen it in probably a decade, so we watched it even though Michael & I had done so back in March. That’s perfectly okay with me. I love that movie.
Mike did pick up the little air conditioner yesterday, so we’ve gotten it out of our limited storage space. He’s looking for a new place. His landlords have asked him to move because he’s on his feet now with a good job and they want to give the same opportunity to someone else who needs it. I think that they are wonderful people for doing this for men who need the short-term help.
Good morning, Vagabonds.
