Ordinary Basil. Hoping to find the cell holding Louise, Basil follows a man who looks like he might be someone of importance. But instead of a prison, Basil is led to some sort of factory, the likes of which are far beyond the machine assembly and technology known at that time. "What are they making?" he wonders. These things look like some sort of life-sized doll, only made of metal. Suddenly a whistle blows and all the workers leave as the factory shuts down. "Must be a break," Basil reasons. This gives him a chance to get a closer look and try to figure out what's going on here. Tip-toeing into an office where he saw the ominous tall man go, Basil discovers a large book. Skimming through the detailed hand-written notes and schematics, Basil soon realizes that these aren't toys being made here. They're building an army!
