When my daughter was little, I had never, EVER cut her hair. (Her first haircut was at 12). Anyway, she had this LOOOOONG “Rapunzel” braid down her back. Being a pip-squeak, it was quite something to see. I used to hold her braid when we walked in a crowd, rather than her hand, which I could not reach because she was so tiny. (She’s 36 now and she kept the long braid when we lopped it off in one piece).
