"Where's your stuff, Charlie Brown? Where's your glove and your bat and everything?" Schroeder asks. Charlie Brown answers, "I can't play today!" Patty, having thrown a ball, and Snoopy stand in front of them.(BR BR) Patty and Schroder both think, "?" Patty wears a baseball mitt. Charlie Brown stands there.(BR BR) "Waddya mean, you can't play today?" Schroeder demands.(BR BR) "Just what I said...I can't play today! There's something else I have to do!!" Charlie Brown throws out his arms.(BR BR) "But you've GOTTA play, Charlie Brown..you're our MANAGER!" Patty says as she and Snoopy join Schroeder and Charlie Brown.(BR BR) Patty continues, "You may be a LOUSY manager, but you're still our manager!" "We NEED you!" Lucy adds. "I can't help it.." Charlie Brown says as he walks away. They watch him leave.(BR BR) Schroeder shouts, "YOU GOTTA PLAY, CHARLIE BROWN!" "YOU GOTTA, YOU GOTTA!" Patty adds. They, Lucy and Snoopy all stare off to one side.(BR BR) Schroeder declares, "I just don't understand it!" "I understand it!" Lucy annoucnes. "YOU understand it? Since when did YOU become so understanding?" Patty turns around to ask.(BR BR) "It's not a matter of understanding." Lucy explains.(BR BR) She concludes: "It's simply the age-old story!" Thgey stand in the background and watch as Charlie Brown, sighing, wheels Sally around in her stroller.(BR BR)
