Biden called them to ask them to fire the prosecutor who was not, in fact, investigating Burisma. That is the problem. Documentary evidence was submitted that the investigation into Burisma, which regarded persons and events that pre-dated Hunter Biden’s job there by several years, had been parked and was not in any way being advanced. Biden wanted a prosecutor who was more active. That was the US Gov’t position at the time.

For someone who cares so much about politics, Rall, you do such a poor job of tracking down the verifiable details! It’s as if you find the personalities who just hate everyone…kinda the way you do, I guess…and then listen to the evidence that you think justifies that, without fact-checking to make sure all of that is objectively confirmed at all.

Yeah, Rall, but those choices aren’t available now, for this election, so plugging yourself into stupid games about Biden’s son, based on the worst possible interpretation of dubious evidence, is only helping Trump and no-one else.

You hate everyone and you hate the world. We get it. But your lack of ability to engage with anything constructively means that the practical outcome is on the side of the worst of all possibles.

    Grow up.

Well, I believe too that the latest thing he took away were the fines for abuse and regulations to protect the vulnerable elderly from abuse at care homes.https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/24/business/trump-administration-nursing-home-penalties.html?_r=0

The stock market is the only part of the economy which will thrive under Trump plans.

Of course, even that is only likely to be until the next big crash prompted by irresponsible practices allowed by underregulation, but hey. For a couple of years, at least, corporate profits will be flying high, while workers’ wages continue to stagnate at best.

  5. almost 7 years ago on Ted Rall

Over the campaign season of 2016, more than 70% of Rall’s cartoons were focused exclusively on how bad he considered Clinton to be. A handful of cartoons lambasted both candidates, and as far as I could tell, a single digit number targeted Trump alone.

No, he did not “do his share.” He spent the overwhelming majority of his time telling people how bad he thought Clinton was, and leaving Trump alone.

And then there’s the fact that the “ass-grabbers” ALSO push war, AND bomb civilians, AND take healthcare away from women.

    False dichotomies-R-us, here..

The book you might want to look for (in modern translation, obviously) is Brevisima Relacion de la Destruccion de Las Indias (Very Brief Relation of the Destruction of the Indies) by Bartolome de las Casas.http://caribbean-beat.com/issue-49/caribbean-genocide

The Spanish didn’t introduce torture and slavery everywhere, but they did in some places, as there were indeed places/tribes which practiced neither, in the Caribbean. (Noticeably, those tribes are entirely extinct, now.) But the Spanish did manage to pretty much industrialise those things.

Mike Pence, the Christian Dominionist who thinks that US law should be based on Biblical law? HELL no.
