Teresa Burritt (Frog Applause) Creator

This avatar image is of a once (frequently) recurring "Frog Applause" character known as "Grace the Face." Some readers wondered if this is a likeness of me. Nope. Sorry, if I disappointed anyone. Oh, and... Grace doesn't generally wear this eye patch. She's just trying to be fashionably lame for her appearance here. ♥

Yes, we receive a percentage of the advertising and subscription revenue. I don’t know how these allocations are determined (for example, if someone clicks an ad on my page… I’m guessing that it’s shared among all creators, and not just me.) Honestly, most creators on GoComics don’t make big money. The print syndicated ones make a lot more, but most of us… no. I’m here because I love the creative outlet of doing a comic strip on a site with millions of page views. Despite any aforementioned glitches, GoComics (parent company: Andrews McMeel Universal) is still the largest comics website in the world. If you’re a creator/cartoonist, this is the absolute best venue for one’s work. I’ve been here since the inception of GoComics, btw.

“Andrews McMeel Universal is the largest independent syndicate in the world and a leading digital entertainment provider of humor, comic strips, political cartoons and gaming content for print, Web and mobile devices.”

My readers are also a big reason why I maintain a presence on this website. I love you guys to the end and back.

Has anyone else noticed any weirdness on this website today/lately? I’ve received a few emails from readers about this issue. Here’s one email.

    Hey T,

This is what I am seeing at GoComics today. Is this some new layout? It looks more like a glitch to me. I can’t imagine someone approving this change.

I swear, I have never seen a more glitchy website than the GoComics one. If there were not millions and millions of other solid, coherent functioning websites out there, I might understand a bit more, but a site run by a huge company with millions of views really ought to do a better job in my opinion.

I would love to support them with a subscription/membership, but it is hard to support a site run so poorly and not to mention their track record.

Do the artists get a cut of the subscription fees? I could easily overlook the shortcomings of the overloards if I knew I was supporting the artists.

    Lamefully yours,

I’d like to start acknowledging the birthdays of my readers on this page. Please email me your birthdate if you’d like mass birthday greetings from other FA readers. You don’t have to include the year, of course. Or your age. Do I have any Leap-Year babies?

I once found a study that revealed that there is usually at least two people in a group with the same birthday… such as a school classroom. If anyone finds information about the odds of this happening or any study along those lines, kindly share it.
