    The statutory duopoly that the Democrats and Republicans have created largely eliminates the possibility of serious challenges to their bungling, indifference and corruption.

    And that bungling, indifference and corruption includes how they select their presidential candidates.

    Make that “presidential tickets”, not “presidential candidates”. Their VP candidates are chosen for reasons other than their job descriptions as defined in the Constitution.

    One wag said that he hoped the current VP was merely chronically drunk, rather than a cackling idiot. Drunks can and sometimes do sober up, but stupidity is forever.
