I was an investigative agent for the NLRB for 30 years and handled quite a number of USPS cases. I think I dealt with every union, including the little known National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association (NRLC). I learned what an amazingly complex organization it is. In defending the USPS, I point out to those who will listen that a first-class letter costs the same whether it is mailed from a small town in Maine to another small town in Maine, or from that small town in Maine to Alaska. It delivers 6 days a week to your home. (Heck, I can’t even get my local paper delivered to my doorstep anymore. lol). The current cost of a first-class stamp is 55-cents for that service. A first-class stamp in Germany is currently 70 cents, set to go up to 80 cents this summer. That’s just to mail a letter inside Germany, which is roughly the size of Montana or New Mexico. Want to send that same letter to neighboring France? Try 1 Euro, 10 cents, which is about $1.19.

The Cincinnati Enquirer (a Gannett, emphasis on the NET, corporation), also stopped then strip after the Wiley Bears “incident.” A few months later, with no explanation, it returned but in such a small frame you could…bearly…see it. I now read it here on GoComics.

I quite enjoyed the cartoon! (And I’m happy that you are back in the Cincinnati Enquirer after being put in PC jail). I’m just surprised “some idiot…” didn’t add “Ackschually….”
