It was also November and Lake Superior was rough. It was a crazy storm. Also, the water was probably very cold. Hypothermia would have probably gotten them before they could get rescued.

I think she was wearing a sweater and when she got inside she took it off. She has a solid green shirt and a plaid shirt on outside.

I remember 4-1/2” floppies. Haha. If we wanted to play old DOS gameS, then we had to play with the c:\ prompt.

I don’t remember spring break trips. I went to Mexico with my girl scout troop in 1975 over Christmas and New Year’s. Yes, I did miss some school. Also, my parents took my sisters and I to DisneyWorld over Christmas break in 1979. We didn’t take spring break trips with our kids. Sarah went on Mission trips every year at Spring Break, so she could travel and make the world a better place at the same time. She graduated in 2007 from high school, so two of those trips were to the Gulf Coast to help out with Katrina rehab. Then she went to Savannah, Georgia, Asheville, North Carolina and Buffalo, NY. She changed her major and ended up being in college 6 years. I’m only coming up with 5 trips. There must have been another one. She also went to Kentucky with Appalachian Service Project, but I thought that was still in high school.

A parka and gloves. 50? If it ws 50 outside, I would just have on a fleece and no gloves. It’s 34 today. I had on my winter jacket, but to just run between a building and a car, no gloves or hat.

Sheboygan, WI It’s 34 degrees outside, which is pretty warm for January. In contrast, during the polar vortices of 2014, we got down to -17 without the wind chill. The furnace is set at 68 during the day and turns down to 60 at night. With temps in the 30s, it drops to about 65 at night. We are usually sleeping and snug in our beds though. We really don’t vary from that routine. Out programmable thermostat takes care of it.
