Don’t know that he was much of a gunfighter. But he got a reputation as one of the participants in the famous Gunfight at the OK Corral, where he may well have fired the first shot. Trained at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), of all places. He went “West” because he was diagnosed with tuberculosis. He died of it at a young age (34, I think). The inscription on his tombstone reads “I died in bed”.
