I once lived in a town that had wild turkeys. One Thanksgiving week, I was coming up to a light that was against me. Along came 3 or 4 wild turkeys – they looked around then crossed the street in the crosswalk. It was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. It was also before cell phone cameras. Sigh.
I don’t think they make Kirsten anymore. My daughter had her because she wanted a doll that looked like her. The other dolls were brunettes, not blonde like her.
My maternal grandfather was also in World War I and survived having shrapnel in his hip and mild gassing. He didn’t get a Purple Heart, although it may have been lost. He did get a medal for his service in several French battles.
