I’m sorry I’m not being sarcastic or provocative but please explain something to me. If it pains people so much to read these comics because of your anger at the characters or it brings out past experiences why do you continue to do so? It seems very masochistic to me. These are reruns. The characters are NOT going to change. We know the outcome.
I read only the comics that I find enjoyable, make me laugh or make me think. The others that disturb me, anger me or are just plain strange find their way in the trash heap.
It’s not worth it to me to boil up and have anger eat me alive. I can feel the anger and seething with some of the postings. Believe me it’s not worth it.

on Calvin and Hobbes
Calvin is not 100 percent perfect. He’s far from it but that’s not the point. The point is we love his antics and the strip gives a smile to our faces.

Do you realize that Calvin is 6 years old Legaleagle48? Most six year olds want to play not sit at a desk all day long filling in worksheets. Leave your speech for the high schoolers.
School was and is uninspiring. I fell asleep many a time in school. We don’t need song and dance but surely more enthused teachers who care about their subjects would help. A lot more hands on experiences to ignite learning would help too. Handing out worksheet upon worksheet is the work of a boring and lazy teacher.

My daughter is an exact replica of Calvin and she’s ADHD. Sorry Johanan. But honestly wasn’t it better in some way in the past without the labels? No personality studies of introverted and extroverted types, Aspergers or ADHD. Wouldn’t it be nice for once to embrace in differences and quirkiness instead of labeling and psychoanalyzing?

on Garfield
I doubt that Joe was saying that all farmers are ignorant just Jon’s parents. Check out the wiki on Garfield to see how swift Jon’s parents are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garfield

I can relate to these comics these days. Since reading these my daughter is now sick. Thank you Lizzie. Didn’t know it goes through the computer. Talk about computer viruses. My daughter just got up from a nap. She never naps so we know she’s really sick. 1st thing she did was throw up. Poor girl! She’s been throwing up since this morning.

Wow what a story newworldmozart. I’m so glad your husband was OK. That’s a frightening thing to happen to both child and mom.
Let me reiterate I don’t care that you have a different opinion than mine. That’s true. It’s the repetitiveness of it.
I have a few questions for you. Honestly what did the link do for your Mrs.Luke? It certainly didn’t soften you. You are so gleeful in pointing it out though. You have such a rigidness toward people that I just don’t understand. Lynn Johnston had a painful life that came through with the rearing of her children. She sought help and yet you still come down with the hammer and label her as a witch (and Elly) and you are relentless each and every day. It’s almost a crusade with you.
I’m sorry that the world is imperfect and we don’t live up to your standards.
That’s my swan song BTW. I’m through with the drama and will read my comics the old fashioned way through the newspaper.
This whole thing has just saddened me.
