Soaking for a good 15-20 minutes loosens what’s stuck and makes sure that you don’t end up scratching dishes and cookware.

Cookware is expensive, take the time.

Let’s just say “Season’s Greetings!” to all! After all, there are so VERY MANY celebrations in December.

I personally like to mix it up as much as I can remember to. No one has so far objected, not that they could stop me.

The Mayflower wasn’t even the first ship of English settlers to North America. That was Jamestown, Virginia in 1607.

I’m a “leftie” and my main artificial tree is 35 years old and counting. I also have several mini-trees around the same age.

You can’t judge a person’s political leanings by their Christmas tree.

  5. 5 months ago on JumpStart

The local charity thrift store has 5 artificial trees for sale, beautiful ones, too. I’m pretty sure that an artificial tree that was used for years by one family and will now be used for years by another is better for the environment than a real tree. Cheaper, too!

I have actually only made cakes from scratch – when I learned to bake, it was cheaper (in farm country) just to get the ingredients. Plus, I was told that cake mixes never turned out well (don’t know, never tried).

I learned baking from a food service teacher that spent her childhood and her summers baking for a plantation turned upscale camp, so maybe I just got it drilled into me early.

And now I really want some tomato spice cake…

I’ve heard this before, but I have to ask – how is making a cake harder? I’ve never had any problems with a cake coming out wrong.

Cookies I’ve burned, pie crust crumbled, cheesecake cracked, but cakes are easy as can be! OK, icing a cake takes some care.

Did I do it wrong somehow?

Ever hear of food banks? Comics like this one irritate me, I know a LOT of people are out there who could use just about any king of food you’re willing to donate, instead they act like the only choice is to dump food on people who don’t want it!

I didn’t have a camera back then, and lawyers were something I saw on TV, no idea how to hire one.

Things were REALLY different back then.

Roughly 40 years ago, I decided to get a perm. I went to Fantastic Sam’s and told them I wanted my hair short and curly. I got a 1/4-inch afro with burns on my scalp.

They did NOTHING, wouldn’t even apologize. I have been telling people ever since to NOT go there (the entire chain, I don’t mess around).

Of course, if they decide to sue me, they get what I have – nothing of value.

Really, word of mouth is a legitimate form of business criticism, you should indulge! It’s a public service!
