The 2014 date is not the date the strip first appeared. The strip had already ended by 2014 (it ended in 2012). Perhaps 2014 was the year it was first rerun.

Wikipedia suggests that Daddy is paying alimony: “J.J. Caucus … was originally engaged to Zeke, but married Mike, eventually left Mike for Zeke (and married him in March 2001), and later won a MacArthur Fellowship (but still doesn’t know that she was nominated by Mike, who did so in the hope that her winning would relieve him of paying alimony).”

Bucky’s ‘Um not sleep’ protestation almost seems a reference to a famous defendant in a current day court case. But how did Darby know?

I’d always thought that both main characters were feral orphans.

True, but I salute Fox for their takedown of puppy-slayer Kristi Noem (on multiple shows) over the past few days. If you haven’t seen the mock interview Greg Gutfield did with her after she cancelled on him, you should look for it. Dana Perino filled in for / played the part of Noem. That was hilarious.

Love the doggy super-villains. I wish I could ‘like’ this one twice.

But why? If it is because you don’t want to receive such junk, fine. But if a campaign sending the junk out actually generates higher donations on average than a campaign that doesn’t, you should be applauding the wise use of funds.

They were popular in the mid to late 1980s, when I worked my first office job. A lot of people were still wearing them in the early 90s. They were actually brought back for the 2023/24 fashion season, so Betty is more fashion conscious than we give her credit for: “They say everything comes back in fashion eventually and if the catwalks of Paris Fashion Week are anything to go by in recent days, it is the shoulder pad’s moment in the sun again. Blazers and silk blouses, both clearly bolstered by angular shoulder pads, were a major style, on show at the likes of Saint Laurent as the styles for autumn and winter 2023/24 were paraded.”
