   I went to the page referenced earlier and read: “Tomorrow I’ll be at the table when company comes. Nobody’ll dare say to me, ‘Eat in the kitchen,’ Then, besides, They’ll see how beautiful I am and be ashamed — I, too, am America.”

   The first thing that came to my mind, was ” He must have turned 18 since last time…. Now he gets to sit at the adult table… I ate in the kitchen until I was 20…..”

   I guess I don’t have an automatic racism sensitivity button like I’m supposed to.
