It was during Bush the younger’s term as president. France opposed the US invasion of Iraq after 9/11 which spurred the whole silly Freedom fries thing.

To be fair, lady nipples should also be okay. It’s just an inexplicable cultural taboo that makes them somehow “obscene”.

  3. 9 days ago on Over the Hedge

Yes. We’ve had a king sized Tempurpedic for close to two decades.

With widespread adoption of Ranked Choice Voting, all candidates could have a realistic expectation, and you could vote for who you wanted without being stuck using your vote tactically. It would have a great shot at breaking the two-party stranglehold.

Apparently it’s an ingredient in the dressing, not a topping. I never knew.

I can tell from all my typos that I didn’t get coffee this morning. Sigh.

That’s kind of a myth. Cats can focus clearly at 25cm. They are mid-sighted, only seeing well up to about 20ft. That is for the same reason you mention: lack of ciliary musculature.

Any appearance of range otherwise is because of their exceptional ability to detect motion.

As far as treats go… there is no point in pulling it away. The processed nuggets we offer as food or treats has no visual significance to a cat. It neither looks like nor acts like prey. Instead of moving it away, put it closer to the cat’s nose. It is smell and taste which allows a cat to identify the stuff we offer as “food”.

Being unable to focus up-close is not remarkable, really. Humans with all that ciliary muscle can only do so, so far. Wouldn’t help you at all if you had to interact with everything face-first. Try typing with your nose as an example.

“23 year-old transgender lesbian black female (?) immigrant pilot in psychotherapy”

You’re carrying too much baggage; no airline would book you.

Then again, if you’re so threatened by all these parameters, you should just stay home anyway. Society is not for you.

Seems to originally be from Dune. Very likely Warcraft would have picked it up from there.

“Revealing” and “modesty” are totally arbitrary concepts, mostly passed down through cultures, and varying depending on the situation. What Rowdy is wearing is certainly less revealing than one would find at the public beach or pool. It’s actually pretty close to what Wilma Flintstone wears.

From your profile it seems you spend a lot of time here tossing your personal values around. But your values are just that – yours. Arbitrarily yours. Just what you were taught. And just because that’s what you were taught does not make them objectively right (or wrong).

IMO, the only objectively right or wrong thing you can do with your values is try to push them on others with different values.
