    When this strip was printed in 1981, PG was pretty much the same as PG-13 is today. In fact, you were allowed to say the “s-word” in PG-rated films like Jaws, Grease and E.T.

    In the original version of this strip from March 8th 1981, Elly originally says the year 2001 instead of the re-written version today that says 2050.

    I knew it! I knew I wasn’t the only one who thought that May 5th is National Cartoonists Day. I remember about ten years ago that a bunch of comics that day displayed a National Cartoonists Day logo in their strips. Then it gradually wittled down to just a mention by one or two artists. Apparently, it’s become so much of a joke that most cartoonists simply gloss over NCD.

    Nope, this is one of the original strips from 1980. Perhaps it was this strip that inspired the creator of VeggieTales to go on and create that program. Looks more like “Quisp” and a raddish to me, though.
