I swear, all you guys ever do is complain. It perplexes me why you even read it. Same with Gasoline Alley. These strips have always moved at a snails pace. If you get the old books and archives, which I am sure the Benders have studied extensively, you will find the story lines very similar. I think they are doing a fine job. I mean I understand, one may get frustrated with a strip, and make an an occasional snide comment. But all many of you come hear to do is complain. It frustrates me to no end reading these forums, which is why I rarely post. It sure would be nice to have another forum, for folks who actually enjoy the strip and have positive fun uplifting comments to post on.
Well, time to retire the strip, refuse to allow another artist to continue the strip due to “Artistic integrity” refuse to merchandise or do interviews… The new “Normal”
Since I love this strip and have read it daily for over 40 years, I would just like to say a few words, for all of you who complain every day. Perhaps this strip is just a bit beyond you. May I suggest something more intellectually appropriate. Perhaps Nancy , Ziggy or Family Circle would be more to your liking.
Some of us actually enjoy this strip. I have read it daily since I was a boy ( for nearly 50 years) as did my father before me. I have read the compilations and archives as well. I think that Jim Scancarelli , is doing a wonderful job preserving the memory, integrity and vision of Frank King.It has always been a slow moving strip with lots of gags, and one line humor. If that is not you cup of tea, I fail to understand why you read it.
Please note as well, many posters have been banned from this site for trashing the Artists who work so hard and dedicate their lives to these strips. It is one thing to be opinionated, and another to just be mean and ugly. You would not treat people this way if you met them in person, how is it acceptable somehow on a message board?
Who does he think he is? Quentin Tarantino?
