Is it more important for a comic to be grammatically correct or to reflect how people speak? I vote with how people speak. If every sentence of dialog was grammatically correct it would seem either unreal or stilted.

@wubby – but white has to cooperate or it won’t work

@DangerBunny – I have a slide rule (but it belonged to my father). Corollary to that question – if you have a slide rule, do you know how to use it? I used to know how to do some of the basic functions but I’m not sure I do any more.

Why does Randall look like the Grinch? Where is Cindy-Loo Hoo when you need her?

What is that on the policeman’s shoulder (or under his ear)? I can’t make out from the picture where it’s supposed to be.

And you’re expecting Rita to be sportsmanlike?

And does he even have the appropriate license to drive a bus with passengers? My guess would be no.

But even if you have seen it, can you explain what the obelisk is?

Warning – there may be a potential spoiler in my reply

I have read all the strips as they were posted originally and also I have been reading “For Better or For Worse” – The Complete Library Volume 9 (which is the last book in the collection). In one of the strips, Anthony and Elizabeth were discussing this topic.
