Well, for Hamas the political/military group, as opposed to the Gaza people, it may be a victory.

After all, a victory is when one has accomplished their objectives. It depends a lot on what their objectives are.

Long time no see, Howgy. But is it really Obamacare that’s costing jobs, or is it some tantrums by people who want publicity?

Actually, we’ve had quite a few people who did well at their job and weren’t a beacon of moral integrity. Sad, perhaps, but true.

Whether Petraeus had to go or not (personally, I think that infidelity was a private matter), the storm of coverage it has received is laughable.

Actually, unlike in 2008, now he does know how bad it is. In the 6 months between August 08 and January 09, unemployment rose by 1.5%, with several promils per month. I guess some people have forgotten, but no one was sure just how bad things were four years ago.

Sure, they have not turned all sunshine and roses the last four years. Apparently Obama is not a magician. Fancy that.

As for cooperation, that never hurts, but it does take two to tango. If the GOP wants Obama to compromise, they have to compromise too.

Well, I am sure greedy, ineffectual business owners have nothing to do with it…

Good thing unions exist – otherwise, mismanagers might have to be responsible for their own mess. Can’t have that now, can we?

“What will the liberals do when there are no more rich to tax?”

Considering that the US has had higher taxes in most of its post-WWII history and still had rich people, I don’t think we need to worry about that anytime soon.

“Reagan’s SDI (Star Wars) was a bluff which lost zero American lives, but brought down the Soviet Union”

Eh, I doubt it ranked in the top 10 reasons. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if Reagan’s talks with Gorby did more to weaken the USSR than “star wars”.

I think they are supposed to be spirits or some such.

Ah, the idea that you might need higher revenues than the current almost-lowest-since-20s level to balance the budget is from Neverland?

I wonder what passes for responsible fiscal policy nowadays.

Speaking of which, what happened with the idea to start withdrawing from Afghanistan this year?
