Wanna bet Jerry is working his second or third job and lives in a rat trap apartment while his ex collects insane amounts of child support and/or alimony?

ferddo: I swear that managers all go to the same freaking program on how suck up to the boss and steal the underling’s ideas.

I’m a Marine and I learned at a tender age what a real leader is, and what they aren’t. I loathe the idea in my field that they call managers leaders. The point is that a good manager and leader will not take credit for work the team or an underling did. They will lift the team or underling up. Sadly there aren’t many of them around.

My boss’s boss has zero clinical experience however dictates edicts and plans for caring for patients and and policies that are way off base. Just like your managers that weren’t engineers and had no idea what you do or how you do it.

So the weather trends aren’t much different than what has been going on for eons. Got it.

The weather forecasters around here are far less accurate than the forecasters were when I was growing up……and they have even more technology and gadgets to predict it.

And that energy cannot be supplied with the wind – regardless of the supplier of that.

cactus: The older we get, the less we care about the dusting of said crops.

ferddo: I work in a hospital. Even the small ones have multiple layers of bureaucracy. Much of it foisted upon hospitals the states, the feds, and Joint Commission.

Meanwhile, patient care and outcomes suffer, the equipment we work with is often not up to snuff, but we have 4 layers of bureaucracy where 1 or 2 will more than suffice.

I’ve not experiences bigger companies, though I can extrapolate from the smaller employers that I have worked for.

The big places come up with insanely ridiculous ideas (like your computer issue) and eventually the smaller shops adopt the same mentality…….or is it that the bigger shops get people from the smaller shops and that’s where the whacky ideas come from? Hmmmmmmm.

chemguy: You get an invite. You either come or you don’t. No different than friends. I don’t get bent out of shape because you didn’t come. Some people work, are sick, can’t afford to come. That’s not an issue. It’s called life.

SO true. I got married 24 years ago. Spent $1200 and she made her own dress. Saved a freaking boatload and just laughed or shook our heads when we saw what others paid.

And yet there is never any comment about what the women do that waste insane amounts of time or seem really stupid to men.

My GF just spent TWO HOURS getting her hair done. TWO freaking hours. Like really?

At least she told me she was doing it so I can do the obligatory compliment about something I couldn’t care less about and not get into trouble.
