Too broad a generalization – most are quite happy if their significant other (and maybe other family members) find them pleasing visually and otherwise and that reassurance doesn’t have to be that frequent.

My father’s job in the late 1940s, early 1950s was to walk oil pipelines (northwestern Pennsylvania) checking for leaks/breaks/etc. and turn on or off the pumps. It’s really hard to walk lines under water, suspect the electronics and computer chips now are supposed to do those jobs.
Disagree completely – any bank accounts should be joint, but both individuals may need to go shopping separately (work different schedules and errands need to be run). He knows what’s needed for the cars, machinery, etc., I’m more aware of what’s needed in kitchen/household goods, so why should either of us spend time at stores which don’t supply those particular items?
