    As a teacher, I have an observation to make: The teacher seldom catches the first offender or provocateur. Most of the times, s/he gets the one who answers back.

    Exhibit A: Susie Derkins.

    In other order of things, Bill Waterson never gave a last name to Calvin. As a matter of fact, he recognized he intentionally never gave a first name to Calvin´s dad or Calvin´s mom.

    They will be forever “dad” or “mom”.

    What was Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) first name? . . . . . . . . . . Liutenant. It never had a first name in the series.
