    Vldazzle,

Are you able to post your pizza crust recipe on here? (From eariler comment section) or would that be spam? I’d love to have it!

Lord, John, you’re seizing up. Must be because Elly doesn’t like you playing with Ted, and you’re confined to your office so much. Pick up a broom or use the vacuum - that’ll put the zing in your spring!

Vldazzle, Can you share your recipe on here?

Yay, Elly! Good response…and I know you’re not serious, I would have said the same thing, so blllaaattt to the nay sayers!

    Paul Jones,

That’s where I thought this was going as well…guess Ellie has gotten to the kids too…sad when the victim is youthful exuberance!

And maybe if they’re good boys, and eat ALL their vegetables, Ted can sleep over…can he mom? Huh, can he???

Wasn’t John just complaining he had no friends? And now all of a sudden he’s dragging Ted home for supper, totally unplanned? I think this moron has no consideration for Ellie’s feelings and based on previous comments ( I am sort of new to the strip, I only read it very occassionally before because we didn’t get the newspaper) then he should be aware how Ellie feels about Ted. But, this is John who loved those ghastly pants a few weeks back…

Lewreader, I could honestly see Ellie doing a cheese and celery cake, though, for what it is worth. Probably generate the same excitement as the menu she is planning to have.

Mrs. Luke…I did laugh when I read your comment! I can see her now in the next 10 strips coming up with 101 ways to serve her family celery…soup, puree, as decorations, filled with peanut butter with little raisin “ants” on the top…and quite possibly after the party she could use the leftover celery to use as garnish in her Cesar drink or Bloody Mary after the kids go home! LOL!

And, they probably are too poor to afford much else. John probably has Student Loans up to whazoo to pay for his dental degree, and he did just buy that super duper stereo system…and let’s not forget Ellie’s splurge after the electric can opener fiasco!!!

I am totally enjoying this comic, and my only regret is I didn’t read and enjoy it sooner. But then, I wasn’t a mom myself and most of it would probably have gone over my head…

amongthestars, it’s not cheese and celery cake, it’s cheese and celery, and cake. There’s a comma after celery!

As to why she’s doing it, does any of us ever know why? I just survived my son’s party, and I enjoyed it while it was going on, but I was glad when it was over! Next time, I’ll be having it somewhere other than my house…the mess after definately was not worth it.

Oh, Lord Allan V! He’s just turned three…someone help! Just kidding! He’s already flirting with some…others he screams and calls them “cookie monster!” There’s already a little girl born on the same day he was who calls him her boyfriend. Thank God they’re too young to call each other yet! :)

Oh Lord…the macho mentality begins! And at such a young age too! LOL! I guess I have another 7 or 8 years before my son begins. Save me!

The shoe is on the other foot now, isn’t it John?! You go Ellie!!! Have fun and let down your hair. I hope you are gone to the pub to celebrate your accomplishment with your classmates. You deserve it - going back to school, at night, after caring for your family in the daytime. I admire you for wanting to better yourself!

By the way, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!! I personally love being a mother, and am constantly amazed by the gift of my son. Being a mom is without a doubt the best thing to ever happen to me, and I thank God every night for all the blessings in my life, the first of which is my husband and son.
