   If Bush’s plan was to go into Iraq and get rid of Saddam Hussein, then why were our troops left there for years after Hussein’s death? Seems like we stayed around only to try to force democracy on a country that doesn’t really want it. With all the hostility between the different Islamic sects, as soon as the US is completely out of the country, chances are good that it will revert to civil war, and whichever side wins will put another dictator in place.

   All the US has done by going into Iraq unnecessarily is to create thousands of more enemies of our country. Bush, Cheney, et al have a LOT of blood on their hands.

   Well, I know more about sports than 80% of the men I know, so I guess that makes me a little odd. And while I’m careful about what I eat, I’ve never gone on a set “diet” - closest I ever came is when I put on a lot of weight in college and figured out it was all the extra desserts and snacks I was eating. To assume that all men, and all women, have the same interests is pretty stupid.

   masnadies, if you’re drinking dark beer, to some extent you ARE dieting. Dark beer is usually less caloric, and more filling, than lagers and ales.

   It’s sad that this comic could have been run right after just about any election in the last 30 or 40 years - and will probably be just as appropriate in the future!

   “Cleats” is actually going away? That makes me sad. I’ve been a fan of “Tank McNamara” for decades and was thrilled to discover Mr. HInds’ take on youth sports. I’ll sure miss it.

   pearlandpeach and algurka: I live in a state where medical marijuana is legal, and if you buy it from a licensed distributor, you pay sales tax on it. And that’s on top of what the government makes from the licensing fee - $3,000 annually.

   It’s way too easy to come up with excuses for not exercising. If she’s really serious, she could buy a stationary bike. That way she wouldn’t have to worry about weather or darkness, and she could watch the videos while she exercises.
