Perhaps this was intentional. I propose two possible explanations: 1. Ruben is suggesting that the very idea of a human being living the virtuous and fulfilled life described is so fantastical that it would actually violate the laws of the universe. Including the incorrect formula of water is his somewhat subtle way of indicating what a farce this is. Just give up and draw Doug already! 2. Ruben is attempting to channel us into a new type of spirituality- he wants us to pray to God-man and demand He change the formula of water to O2H.
The difference that stood out to me is that the bowling ball in the top panel is 11-3/4 lbs, and the one in the bottom panel is obviously 12 pounds. Now, can you find one difference in this comment?
