   I had an assignment to make a persuasive speech in college.

   I proposed that the teachings of Garfield the cat could lead to a happier life.I explained how I had been a disciple of his for years and my life had gotten better.I passed around that day’s news paper and asked everyone to read the Garfield comic.

   I got an A on that speech.

   Speaking of tradition check out the pic of Tall Uncle Roy over the fireplace.

   If you could see the whole pic his head is cut off because he is too tall to fit in the frame.

   That was a joke on a 1983 Garfield Advent calendar I had as a little kid.

   Much like Arlene is his GF in the comic yet on Garfield and Friends his GF was Penelope voiced by SNL alumni & costar of UHF Victoria Jackson.

   I have never found out the reason for the different names.

   Garfield, this is a job for metalworking. He has operated an Oxy Acetylene torch as a can opener before so I wouldn’t doubt he can weld.

   We had a Siamese that was the king of head bonks.He also had an excellent purr motor with no muffler.He lived in to his 20’s.I am grateful for all those years but they still weren’t nearly enough.
