Might a parliamentarian system work better? Votes for minority third, fourth, etc. parties wouldn’t be wasted or just a protest. A governing majority would still be needed. Sure, it’s not perfect. But given the existing alternative, well . . . . . that has failed.
Nor did democrats constantly lie & whine. Their maturity, decency & patriotism simply were (& still are) the best example of good American & religious conduct.
Met my wife in an Army school in 1982. I was one of two Marines in the class. First saw her 30 April. First date/dance on 14 May to a great AC/DC cover band. Proposed eight days later on 22 May. On 11 June we had a big test that morning . . . and then got married that afternoon with a Green Beret chaplain officiating (they shared a joke on the alter noting I was a “leg” — she too had graduated the Army’s Airborne course, one of the first women to do so!). In 10 days we’ll celebrate 42 years !!! Man, I should have taken bets with all those who thought (& some that said) it wouldn’t last.
I remember parents & teachers holding us accountable & disciplining us for what today is SOP acceptable conduct amongst the MAGA crowd. And mine & so many of the others were conservative.
I’m in year 60 of loving baseball. And the recent rule changes have made it even more enjoyable.
