   Just looked it up. Blood clots can occur in the legs during surgery, the cold pad reduces that risk.

   I had some minor upper body surgery earlier in the week, and for some reason they put a cold pad on my leg. I asked if they keep those in the same place they keep the stethoscopes. The nurse said, Oh, you mean the refrigerator? I KNEW it!

   (I have a follow up next month, going to ask the purpose of the cold pad.)

    I can’t help you Mamet, maybe you should try that check cashing place down the street.

    (Over the years I have come to view those places as a necessary evil. They helped me get out of debt, avoid penalties and late fees, and maintain decent credit. I wouldn’t recommend them for everyone, but they helped me out when I needed it.)
