Nearly all trade school graduates get jobs that pay a ton of money, so that could be paid off in a relatively short time compared to a two or four year college. In some cases of high demand trade jobs, the tuition may be next to nothing, or highly subsidized.
The grass is always greener on the other side. I keep hearing stories about Canadians coming to the US, claiming better & quicker health care, & US citizens going to Canada for the same reason, but also being supposedly a lot cheaper.
