Sow your wild oats Monday through Saturday. Go to church on Sunday and pray for crop failure.

It’s obvious that the Tribune asked for changes. They obviously asked for it to be stretched out more. Costello obviously complied. Next, Tracy decides to take a nap. We will be treated to several days of snoring. Heck, it could even last a couple of weeks at the rate things are going.

I think that Tracy did not specifically tell Sam to follow that particular lead. Sam followed it on his own based on his gut feeling. It led to usable results. Because of this, it was easier for him to ask Tracy’s forgiveness than his permission.

Tracy’s “incorrigible” line does not sound like something Tracy would say. Sam is a good detective in his own right and Tracy knows it. He is not a rogue detective going off on tangents. His gut feelings are generally sound. He has been with the force long enough to have a little leeway to follow his own leads without being micro-managed by Tracy. I suppose Tracy’s comment infers that Lee and Lizz have been good little girls and enjoyed the micro-managing.

Ovaltine. It was an old-time milk flavoring, but I think they still make it. Back in the day, before anyone reading this board was born, Ovaltine was the sponsor of the Little Orphan Annie radio program. The item highlighted in the strip today was the Little Orphan Annie Decoder. On every program they would give a secret coded message that could be deciphered using the decoder.
