After an archery tournament back in 1975, six of us stopped at Bass Seafood in Salem, VA because they had all you could eat shrimp for $5.99. Two were the Miller twins who weighed 300 lbs each, another two were the Ott brothers at about 250+. After about an hour the waitress came over and said “we are out of shrimp, would you like catfish instead?” We had eaten all the fried, boiled and whatever shrimp they had! They needed that cattle schute there.
I have a 1971 911 Targa, bought new. Had to run a mile and a half PE test in the USAF in 1975. When I finished, I had to get someone to drive me home. My legs had locked up from the run and I couldn’t get in the car to drive.
I was in a flea market. There was a hatchet in a shadow box that claimed to be the one that George used. The tag on it said, “all origional except the handle and head has been replaced”.
An Air Force nurse who was in the delivery room for both of my daughters, was a black belt in Judo. Her name was Evelyn. She competed in a tournament in 1961. She was paired for a match with a Japanese black belt. Evelyn won the match when she flipped the Japanese airman over and knocked him unconscious. He was taken away in an ambulance and it was determined that his neck had been broken. After that Evelyn was known every where as “the girl who broke that Jap’s neck”.
