   I grew up in foster care, and all my foster parents cut my hair themselves. The few photos I have from when I was a kid show me with absolutely horrible haircuts. It’s no wonder that I was relentlessly bullied as a child/teen.

   I don’t know for sure, but if I had to guess, whoever did the coloring didn’t flatten the image to merge the layers before uploading it, and the site’s post-processor stripped the black and white layer out, which was likely the background.

    I visited an automated farm when I was training to be a cable installer. The guy was super nice and I’m guessing really lonely: they didn’t get many visitors, and it was just him and his wife running 1100 acres; and he insisted on the full tour. He had everything: tractors that drove themselves, automated milking machines, automated feed lot, and a little contraption like a robot dog to move the herd indoors every evening. I asked what he does when something breaks. They can usually get someone out same day to repair it.
