When I was a kid, my collie had carpeting in his dog house. It was given to us, made by a craftsman for his dog and very large. But is was wood and cold so we went and got some discards from a carpet store. He used it quite a bit. He had inside privileges but he liked the cold.

Older CA homes have/had floor vents. My grandparents and two of my aunts lived in homes with floor vents. My brother currently lives in a floor vent house. I used to love to stand over them and watch the pilot light beneath them and soaking in the warmth. AC wasn’t available in those homes and many had window coolers.

Spit would come out of the horn if it the horn placed on the leg. It’s positioned in proper concert position. I played clarinet in college. Clarinets and flutists rested their instruments sideways on their laps. Saxophones didn’t have to worry as their instruments were held by a neck strap.

Miss Othmar. Linus had a crush on her. All adults including the teachers had a muted trombone sound. Miss Othmar didn’t have to play the instrument. She just needed to talk or sing the part.
